Mission Statement

The prime function of the Police Department of the Village of Kildeer and the reason for its existence is the enforcement of the laws, statutes, and ordinances of the State of Illinois and the Village of Kildeer in conformity with the Constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Illinois, and to preserve and maintain the health, safety, and welfare of the people of the Village of Kildeer.

To this end, the Department shall:

Preserve the public peace, prevent crime, detect and arrest offenders against the laws and ordinances effective within the Village, protect the rights of all and preserve order at all elections and assemblages;
Administer and enforce laws and ordinances to regulate, direct, control, and facilitate the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and the use of streets by vehicles and persons;
Provide proper police response to calls for police service;
Provide for the attendance of police officers or civilian employees in court as necessary for the prosecution and trial of persons charged with crimes and other violations of the law, and cooperate fully with the law enforcement and prosecuting authorities of Federal, State, County, and Village governments;
Attain and retain maximum efficiency and effectiveness by policies designed to protect and serve the Village of Kildeer and to satisfy these goals.
